Kindal Baki - Principal Stylist
I'm Kindal Baki, founder of KB Home Interior Style + Design. Based in the Kansas City area. I partner with homeowners and business owners to create thoughtfully designed homes and businesses through interior styling, space planning, furniture and décor curation, and finish selections that reflect the people who use them.
My love for design started long before it became my career. I grew up watching my mom and grandma decorate their homes. They were warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully put together. They taught me that a well-designed space isn't just about how it looks—it's about how it makes people feel.
Before launching my design business, I spent years in marketing and branding. That experience shaped the way I approach every project today. I learned that the best results don't come from following a formula—they come from understanding people. Their goals. Their lifestyle. Their personality. Their story.
Today, I bring that same perspective into every home I design. My role isn't to create a space that looks like everyone else's. It's to help you create a space that feels like the best version of yours.
I work with clients throughout the Kansas City metro, including Overland Park, Leawood, Prairie Village, Mission Hills, Lenexa, Olathe, Shawnee, and Westwood. I also work with clients outside the KC metro area. Whether you're in the heart of KC or just outside it, I'd love to help bring your space to life.
My Design Approach
I don't walk into a home looking for what to buy. I walk in looking for what to solve.
Some homes need better flow. Others need warmth, personality, or a stronger sense of purpose. Sometimes the answer is a new layout. Sometimes it's better lighting. Sometimes it's simply editing what's already there. Before I recommend a single piece, I want to understand why your space isn't working the way you want it to.
That's where my background in branding has shaped the way I design.
In marketing, you don't build a successful brand until you understand the people behind it. I approach interiors the same way. I take the time to understand how you live, how your family gathers, what inspires you, what frustrates you, and what you want your home to feel like. Those insights become the foundation for every recommendation I make.
From there, I combine strategic space planning with thoughtful design, professional insight, and access to trusted trade vendors, artisans, and unique resources. Whether we're selecting furniture, lighting, paint colors, tile, flooring, hardware, or styling with pieces you already own, every recommendation is intentional and every decision supports the bigger picture.
I don't believe great design comes from buying more. I believe it comes from understanding your home, defining a clear vision, and making thoughtful decisions that create a space you'll love living in for years to come.
